The Hub
The home of
Doncaster College
State-of-the-art facilities await students at Doncaster
College’s Waterfront campus in the centre of town.
The Hub, which opened in September 2006, offers courses for
people aged 16-90+, in anything from plumbing and hairdressing to
post graduate degrees.
The multi-million pound building houses some of the best
educational facilities in the country, including a 100-seat lecture
theatre, a 200-seat drama studio and a huge Learning Resource
Centre packed with IT facilities.
Leading edge technology is at the heart of the building, making
learning chosen subjects more interesting and relevant to the
student. Interactive whiteboards and projectors are in most
classrooms, and video clips are streamed into rooms via a network.
Plasma screens also welcome students at entrances, informing them
of the latest College, national and international news.
Students are able to study in a more innovative way with comfy
seating, computer zones, a media room, laptop bars and seminar
rooms making up the new, improved Learning Resource Centre.
But as well as a great place to learn, the new campus is a great
place to relax, too. People are able to unwind at the Spa Treatment
Centre, which includes a sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. They could
even get a makeover at the on-site hairdressers, beautician and
nail salon.
Not only that but the new campus also has a range of catering
options. Food is freshly produced by the students, for the
students, and served in the impressive continental style food
hall.
The 400 seat Event Hall is a great space which can be adapted
for a broad range of occasions and is one of a number of dedicated
rooms available for hire, including the stylish conference
suite.
