Academy of Advanced Technologies

The Academy of Advanced Technologies can provide a wide range of training opportunities that will support your

business needs and develop the potential of your employees in the areas of Construction, Engineering and IT.

 

These include intermediate, advanced and higher apprenticeships, technical certicates or bespoke programmes and work based qualications. All can be delivered within your own organisation and at your convenience.

 

Additionally, your staff could achieve Higher Education qualifications through University Centre Doncaster by

studying Higher National Certificates and Diplomas or a Degree (with Honours) in Engineering or Construction.

Engineering: Mechanical & Production, Welding and Fabrication, Electrical and Electronics, Motor Vehicle (including HGV), Highways Maintenance (including Road Building, Site Supervision, Site Management, Facilities Management, Contracting Operations and Waste Management).

 

Computing Technologies: Qualifications in Systems Support, Microsoft Courses (including Office Specialist, Certified Application Specialist and Intensive Training), IT User Skills, CLAIT and ECDL, ADOBE Training and CAD (2D, 3D, Inventor Parametric Modelling).

 

Academy of Creative Industries

Boasting an impressive list of industry standard facilities including: five suites of Mac computers with film editing software, 3D modelling packages including Maya. Analogue and Digital photography facilities including a

dedicated studio and high quality printing.

 

Our Academy of Creative Industries runs a comprehensive list of courses that reflect the changing needs of the

industry, keeping up with the latest trends and software, in Art, Design, Graphic Design, Animation and Games,

Photography, Music Technology, Performing Arts…

 

We can offer a mixture of day and block release in Interactive Media, Photo Imaging, and Games Design. The

apprenticeship also offers the opportunity for an apprentice to work with more than one employer which would allow smaller companies and freelance designers to group together to act as employer. We would work with you to establish the right programme for your staff.

 

Academy of Commercial Enterprise

The Academy of Commercial Enterprise offer a range of employer responsive qualications which are planned and

delivered in collaboration with employers to address your business needs.

 

Apprentices

We deliver on and off the job training which is tailor made to suit the industry requirements.

 

Apprentices may have the opportunity to attend Doncaster College one day a week or delivery may be available solely in the workplace; all apprentices will work towards nationally recognised vocational qualification.

 

Workplace delivery

The NVQ/QCF qualifications are offered in range service industries which are solely delivered in the workplace; these qualifications are designed to broaden skills, increase productivity and instill confidence in employees.

 

Qualifications range from Levels 1-3. There is a qualification to suit each sector of the industry. Funding is available for 19+ learners and eligibility is dependent on the learner’s prior qualications.

 

Short Courses

Short courses can be delivered in the workplace or on site at Doncaster College. A bespoke course can be tailor made by the employers or selected from a range accredited or non accredited courses designed to enhance your business.

 

Essential one day courses in Health and Safety, and Food

Safety at Levels 2 and 3 are also available.

Academy of Wellbeing

The Academy of Wellbeing offers a range of work place qualifications to support the development of a quality workforce in the sectors of Health, Care and Childcare.

 

These include intermediate and advanced apprenticeships, workplace certificates, diplomas and bespoke packages to address statutory training requirements linked to National Occupational Standards.

 

All members of our delivery team are vocationally and/or professionally qualified with considerable experience of

working in the Health, Care or Childcare sectors. They also hold full assessor and teaching qualifications and are

experts in delivering training in the workplace.

School of Business and Management

The School of Business and Management is part of University Centre Doncaster, based at our High Melton Campus and part of a joint partnership between Doncaster College and the University of Hull.

 

We provide a broad base of academic expertise via programmes recognised by the Chartered Institutes of Personnel and Development, the Chartered Management Institute, and the Chartered Institute of Marketing as well as degree courses.

FusedWorks

FusedWorks is a 3D visualisation studio that develops stunning 3D interactive and pre-rendered applications.

 

Whether it’s to visualise a building, product or training need, 3D is a truly effective communication tool. The FusedWorks team has a wealth of knowledge and commercial experience in product development, engineering, marketing, heritage and 3D modelling which means that from design concept through to advertising we can support our clients to ensure that new ideas, products and services are communicated to their full potential.

 

FusedWorks specialises in the following areas:

  • Interactive 3D Applications that are particularly effective when there is a need to visualise complex, large, or dangerous objects and scenes.
  • 3D for the web which is becoming increasingly more popular. Example outputs include 3D games, interactive 3D applications and pre-rendered 3D movies.
  • Immersive 3D for a more impressive stereo experience whereby the viewer sees a model or scene in actual 3D. Its greatest benefit is that the viewer is left with an intuitive understanding of models and scenes.
