Advanced Apprentice Level 3 Business Administration at Doncaster College

Daniel is part of a team which helps new business start ups, and puts measures into place to make sure that they are sustainable. This project, called ERDF net315, will develop facilities and services to provide additional support for College learners, including community learners, moving into and making a success of enterprise. Doncaster College is working with a number of partners in the region to help make his happen.

The project is funded through the European Regional Development Fund. The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) is used to tackle regional disparities across Europe, by supporting regional development through actions such as business innovation, support and regeneration.

This is a long way from where Daniel started. Originally, he studied English Literature at Manchester University and changed direction when he saw an advert for his post on the Doncaster College website. He applied and got the job.

Daniel says his degree still comes in useful in his present work for the organisational abilities it has given him, and English knowledge for writing up reports.

Ann Jackson, Business Lead Mentor at the College says, "Daniel is an asset to the ERDF net315 project. He is a natural, great with the customers and full of practical enterprising ideas."
