Apprenticeships in Customer Service
Apprentices learn on the job,
building up knowledge and skills, gaining recognized qualifications
and earning money all at the same time.
What Will You Do?
You will be employed, working in a customer facing environment
and are paid a minimum of the National Minimum Apprenticeship Wage,
currently £2.65 per hour. You will work towards a Vocational
Qualification, Technical Certificate, Functional Skills, Employer
Rights and Responsibilities..
There What are the Entry Requirements?
are generally no minimum entry or previous experience
requirements for Apprenticeships. You should have the potential to
achieve the requirements of the framework.
Employers may have their own entry requirements and some prefer
learners to have GCSE grades C/D in Maths and English.
How Long Does an Apprenticeship Take to
Complete?
The apprenticeship ends when you complete all necessary
components.
It takes approximately 1 year to complete depending upon level
of qualification.
What Job Will you Do?
Once fully qualified, you can use your skills to work as:
- Customer Service Advisor
- Receptionist
- Call Centre Personnel
- Management
A wide variety of skills are needed for the Customer Service
Apprenticeship, including identifying customers and what they
value, patience, commitment to work, not being judgemental and an
excellent telephone manner.
What Opportunities are Available
Afterwards?
The skills and knowledge you will acquire are highly
transferable and there are many opportunities for you to develop
your career in this sector. You may also go on to achieve other,
higher level qualifications.
What Qualifications will you Achieve?
Vocational Qualification
You will need to achieve a Vocational Qualification at Level 2
or Level 3 in your chosen area
Knowledge Based Qualification
You will be required to complete a Knowledge Based
Qualification
Functional Skills
You will work to achieve the following Functional Skills:
- English Level 2
- Maths Level 1
