Two years full time
You are expected to be available to attend college Monday to Thursday 9am to 5.30pm and Friday 9am to 4.30pm. Your timetable will be for 16 hours per week and will be explained to you at interview.
The advanced diploma in Creative and Media is a full time qualification for young people combining practical and theory and introduces students into working within a range of creative disciplines to give hands-on experience of key creative and media activities. This new exciting course will enable you to develop skills and experiences that employers and universities require including 10 days work experience in the creative industry. As part of your course you will be working on practical projects, with local community involvement, practical workshops, and developing and communicating ideas through a variety of media. You will also be developing your personal learning and thinking skills and working on an extended project to expand your project management skills.

You will start your creative project in year two.
Throughout the duration of your course you will be given regular tutorials to help and support you through your studies. You will also submit portfolios of work combining theory and practical.
There are no course fees if you are under19 years old on 31 August 2010. However, you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your interview.
Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will be provided at the time of interview.
Many students progress on to degree level study such as BA(Hons) Fine Arts and Crafts, BA(Hons) Graphic Design, FdA Illustration and Animation including courses offered by Doncaster College
There are some opportunities in the creative sector at junior levels but further study would be recommended to achieve employment in many job roles including advertising art director, picture editor, creative director and games designer
