Two Years full time
You will be expected to attend between Mondays to Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm
This two year course is ideal for musicians wishing to pursue a career in the technological aspects of the music industry. Learners will develop recording, production, composition and technical skills in addition to an analytical awareness of popular music.

Sound and Music Industry
Music Production Techniques
Sequencing Systems and Techniques
Sound Creation and Manipulation
Music and Sound for Moving Image
Live Sound for Stage
Major Music Project
Music in the Freelance World
You can also study Key Skills which include Maths and English.
Students are assessed by a variety of methods including written coursework, portfolios of evidence and practical assignments. The assessments are to specific criteria and when successful are graded Pass, Merit or Distinction.
5 GCSEs grades A*-C including English
First Diploma in Merit in a relevant subject
You will also be expected to attend a workshop at which you will be expected to produce a piece of music
Adult learners with prior experience who can demonstrate a capability to pursue the course successfully
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old on 31 August 2010. However, you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your interview.
There will be a £ 50 studio fee for this course.
Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will be provided at the time of interview.
Many students will progress on to degree level courses such as BA (Hons) Creative Music Technology at University Centre, Doncaster.
Employment opportunities are radio production, sound recording engineer, music publisher, music teacher, composer/arranger, live sound engineer.
