Business Level 3 Diploma
Course Description
The course comprises of 12 (18 for extended diploma) business
related units plus functional skills as appropriate.
Course Structure
There are 4 core units:
- The Business Environment
- Business Resources
- Introduction to Marketing
- Business Communication
Plus 8 (14 for extended diploma) optional units including
subjects such as Market Research in Business, Recruitment and
Selection and Financial Accounting.
Course Assessment
All units are internally assessed by means of a portfolio of
evidence which will be built up during the duration of the course.
Each unit is graded either at a Pass, Merit or Distinction with an
overall grade being awarded for the full qualification.
You will be expected to undertake research and written
assignment work in your own time.
Entry Requirements
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent),
including English and Maths.
- Progression internally from level 2 must be at least a
merit.

All learners must undertake initial assessment and achieve
minimum levels of L2 in literacy and Level 1 in numeracy.
Course Progression Routes
Business related degree or HNC/HND.
Professional qualifications in areas such as Accountancy, HR,
Law or Marketing
Course Career Prospects
Supervisory or junior management positions in business
organisations which may offer the opportunity to study for further
qualifications on a part time basis.

Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are
beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are
optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will
be provided at the time of interview.
Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old. However,
you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips
and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your
interview.
