Pre-Apprenticeships - Asdan Employability Level 1
Course Description
This is an employment preparation course for young learners who
have already applied for an apprenticeship but who have not secured
an employer. The aim of the course is to improve confidence with
regard to interview techniques, CV presentation, personal
motivation and the ability to communicate effectively.
The programme takes place over 12 weeks, part-time, followed by
the opportunity to progress on to further programmes or, having
gained an employer begin your apprenticeship.
Course Structure
Key Units:
- Planning and reviewing learning
- Introduction to working with others
- Maintaining work standards
- Applying for a job
- Communicating with others at work
- Exploring job opportunities
- Health and safety in the workplace
- Introduction to customer care
Course Assessment
Assessment is based on your individual learning plan and you
will create a portfolio of work to prepare for ASDAN
accreditation.
Entry Requirements
Referral from the Apprenticeship Programme at Doncaster
College.
Course Progression Routes
Secure an employer and begin the Apprenticeship programme or
progress onto the next level of Employability.
Course Career Prospects
Successful learners will be able to follow a chosen career path
by securing an employer and beginning your apprenticeship.

Enrichment
Activities such as mock interviews and visiting speakers are
part of the programme. You are expected to attend and take part in
all such arranged activities.
