Beauty Therapy Level 1 NVQ
Course Description
NVQ Level 1 beauty therapy is an introduction to the beauty
therapy industry and the role of assisting a senior therapist. This
qualification is aimed at students who have little knowledge of
beauty therapy and school leavers who would like to build their
social and communication skills in preparation of Level 2 beauty
therapy.
Course Structure
You will cover the following units:
- Health & Safety
- Developing effective working relationships
- Prepare and maintain salon work areas
- Assist with day make up
- Assist with nail services
You will also study Functional Skills English, Maths and IT and
complete a qualification in personal and social development.
Course Assessment
Assessment will include practical observations on paying
clients, written questions, mandatory online tests and building
portfolio of evidence.
Entry Requirements
- 2 GCSE’s grades G and above
- Entry 3 in Numeracy and Literacy

- All applicants must complete an initial assessment in Maths and
English and attend an interview
- Strong interest in beauty therapy
- Smart appearance

Course Career Prospects
This qualification will provide opportunities to gain employment
as an assistant therapist in many locations including a local
beauty salon, spa resorts, health farms, cruise liners.

optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will

Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old. However,
you will have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips
and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your
interview.
