Beauty Therapy Level 2 NVQ
Course Description
This qualification aims to provide students with the necessary
skills and knowledge to carry out hands on beauty therapy
treatments that are carried out within the beauty industry.
You will be taught through a combination of classroom and salon
activities such as practical demonstrations, ILT methods, tutorials
and small group work.
Course Structure
You will cover the following units:
- Health and Safety in the salon
- Working in beauty related industries
- Promote products and services to clients
- Salon reception duties
- Manicure treatments
- Facial and skin care
- Male facial treatments
- Artificial tanning treatments
- Lash and brow treatments
- Pedicure treatments
- Make up application
- Client care and communication
- Waxing treatments
- You will also study Functional Skills Literacy.
Course Assessment
Assessment will include practical observations on paying
clients, written questions, mandatory online tests and building
portfolio of evidence.
Entry Requirements
- 4 GCSE’s grades D and above including English

- All applicants must complete an initial assessment in Maths and
English and attend an interview
- Strong interest in beauty therapy
- Smart appearance

Course Career Prospects
This qualification will provide opportunities to gain employment
as an assistant therapist in many locations including a local

Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old. However,
you will have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips
and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your
interview.
