Women's Hairdressing Level 2 Diploma
Course Description
This course develops the skills required to prepare you for
employment in the hairdressing industry.
Course Structure
Units covered include:
- Working in the hair industry
- Maintaining Health & Safety in the salon
- Client consultation for hair service
- Shampoo & condition the hair and scalp
- Promote products & services to clients in a salon
- Cut women’s hair
- Provide perming services
- Dressing & styling hair
- Salon reception duties
- Plaiting and twisting hair
Course Assessment
The course is assessed through a mixture of written assignments
or online tests & observations of practical skills.
Entry Requirements
- An interest in hairdressing, excellent personal presentation
skills and excellent communication

Level 3 hairdressing or an Apprenticeship
Course Career Prospects
This qualification will provide opportunities to gain employment
as a junior/stylist working in settings such as a hairdressing
salon, health farm, cruise liner and setting up your own
business.

Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are
beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are
optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will
be provided at the time of interview or throughout the course.
Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years of age.
However you will have to pay for textbooks, personal kit,
uniforms, trips and personal stationery. You will be informed of
these at your interview.
Students will be required to purchase professional hairdressing
kit & uniform costing approximately £200.
