Health & Social Care Level 2 Diploma
Course Description
This course is intended to enable students to explore a range of
areas within the health services. It will provide knowledge,
understanding and skills required for further education or future
employment in the health and care sectors.
Course Structure
The course comprises of eight units, four core and four optional
units covering a wide aspect of Health & Social care and
includes Functional Skills in communication and application of
number.
Course Assessment
All evidence is completed through practical written work in the
form of assignments over the one year programme.
Entry Requirements
- 4 GCSE’s grades D and above including Mathematics and
English.
- Health and Social Care Level 1
- For equivalent qualifications see the Entry Requirements Explained page
- All applicants must complete an initial assessment in
Mathematics and English and attend an interview
Course Progression Routes
- BTEC Diploma in Health & Social Care Level 3
- Apprenticeship - Care
- Access to Nursing / Social Work - intended for 19+
adults/students (students under 19 may incur a substantial fee
Course Career Prospects
This qualification will provide opportunities in careers such as
Home Care Worker, Residential Care Worker and Personal
Assistant.

Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old. However,
you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips
and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your
