IT Users ITQ Level 3 Diploma City and Guilds
Course Description
ITQ Qualifications offer freedom, choice and flexibility.
Allowing for different routes to achievement, students can build up
credits and combine them in a way that will help them get to where
they want to be. Achievements will be kept on an electronic learner
record, encouraging learners and others to value past
achievements.
Course Structure
The C & G Level 3 Diploma for IT Users course will allow
students to prepare for further learning or training and develop
skills and knowledge in the ICT user area.
The course is made up of units to the value of 39 Credits.
Each unit is worth 4, 5 or 6 Credits. The student must pass the
Core Unit worth 5 Credits along with the selected optional units up
to the total of 39 Credits.

Improving Productivity using IT
Optional Units Sample
Design Software, Video Software, Multimedia Software, Database
Software, Website Software, Spreadsheets Software, Word Processing
Software and Presentation Software.
Students will also be required to attend Functional Skills and
Tutorials.
Course Assessment
Assessment could be a combination of Online Tests, Paper Based
Tests, Witness Testimonies, Professional Discussion or Portfolio
building although emphasis is on “doing” rather than “writing”,
however, some written work will be necessary.
Entry Requirements
- 4 GCSEs Grade C (preferably English and Maths)
- BTEC First Diploma for ICT Practitioners (or equivalent) –
Merit
- For equivalent qualifications see the Entry Requirements Explained page
- All applicants must complete an initial assessment in Maths and
English, a diagnostic assessment and attend an interview.
- Potential students will be assessed on an individual basis
following the successful completion of a 3 day Taster Course and
the college induction process.

beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are
optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will
be provided at the time of interview.
A level 2 Art & Design Award is also delivered.
Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old. Material
costs of £20.00 - to cover the cost of a Memory stick, paper,
printing and any trips we may attend.
