Course Description

The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production (TV & Film) is a one year top up programme.  This course will give learners an opportunity to further develop their skills and build a stronger protfolio for university. The extended diploma is heavily weighted towards practical work, with projects including stop motion animation, a community production project, DVD Design and documentary making.  

Course Structure

The course is made up of practical and theory projects and workshops giving learners the opportunity to expand their horizons within the field of Film & TV. Assignments on the course vary in timescale depending on the nature of the project.

 

Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production (Film & Television) is an 18 unit qualification (takes 2 years including the Diploma year of study).

Course Assessment

The assessment of your work will take place throughout the year with regular tutorials taking place with information on how to develop your skills and improve work. Each unit will be assessed individually with each having their own set of tasks. The methods of assessment will vary from reports – presentations – production files and videos.

Entry Requirements

This course is only suitable for learners who have successfully completed a L3 Diploma in Creative Media Production as well as their allocated functional skills qualification. A satisfactory reference is also required.

Previous learners have gone onto study Film and Television Production at university.

Course Career Prospects

Opportunities exist to enter the Creative Industries at a Junior Level but further study would be recommended to achieve employment in many job roles in the industry which could vary from camera operator to an editor.

Course Costs

There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old. However, you will be required to pay a £50 materials fee at the start of the course.
