Performing Arts - Dance Level 3 Diploma
Course Description
The BTEC Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance) is
a one year course designed to introduce you to the skills needed to
become a Professional actor. You learn through practical
performance workshops, rehearsals and live performance projects
both on stage and in front of a camera. All activities will
be underpinned by developing core dance skills and techniques. The
Course is equivalent to 2 A levels.
Course Structure
The course is made up of practical and theory
projects and workshops giving learners the opportunity to expand
their horizons within the field of Performing Arts. Assignments on
the course vary in timescale depending on the nature of the
project.
The Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts Dance
is a 12 unit qualification (achieved in year one only)
Course Assessment
Functional skills are embedded throughout the
course, you may be required to take an exam and/or complete a
portfolio to achieve these. The course is assessed through
practical and written assignments linking to performance
projects.
Entry Requirements
· 4-5 GCSEs grades
A*-C including English
· First Diploma in
Performing Arts Level 2 at Merit
· All
applicants must complete an initial assessment in Maths and English
and attend an interview and audition

Course Progression Routes
Previous National Diploma students have gone
on to study Performing Arts at degree level at Universities and
Stage schools.
Course Career Prospects
Opportunities exist to enter the performing arts business within
holiday camps and animation team activities, film and TV extra work
and various Junior Level roles, but further training would be
recommended to achieve employment in many job roles including
professional Dancer or Choreographer.

optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will

Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old. However,
you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips
and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your
interview.
