Sport & Exercise Science Level 3 Diploma (Top Up)
Course Description
The course provides an excellent opportunity for you to combine
the theoretic side of sports science with the practical application
of that knowledge, and follows on from our BTEC L3 Sport and
Exercise Science Subsidiary Diploma.
Additionally you will be able to attend our Sports Academy
programmes and receive up to six hours of specialist coaching.
Course Structure
The course is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge
and understanding of a number of science based units. The course
allows for natural progression onto Higher Education and future
employment in the sport and recreation industries.

- Nutrition for Sport and Exercise
- Fitness Testing
- Sport Massage
- Sport Injuries
- Sport Industry Experience (2 Week Work Placement)
Course Assessment
The course is internally assessed by means of performance
observations, assignments, presentations, reports and projects.
Entry Requirements
- BTEC L3 Subsidiary Diploma in Sports and Exercise Science - a
merit profile essential

- All applicants must complete an initial assessment in Maths and
English and attend an interview
- All applicants are required to successfully complete an
assessment introductory course
Course Progression Routes
Learners that achieve the BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma and
the BTEC Level 3 (Top Up) Diploma will gain a national equivalence
of 2 x A Levels.
The overall grade profile will enable learners to achieve the
following UCAS points:

Enrichment
Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are
beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are
optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will
be provided at the time of interview.
Sports Academy Programmes
A six hour coaching package will be available to you such
as:
- Football (male and female)
- Rugby
- Hockey
- Athletics
- Netball
NB (subject to skills tests)
Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old. However,
you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips
and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your
interview.
