AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting Intermediate Level

Course Description

The course covers:

  • Advanced bookkeeping skills – such as depreciations, prepayments, and accruals
  • Analysing costs and revenues
  • Final accounts for sole traders and partnerships
  • Spreadsheets
  • Cash management
  • Indirect tax (VAT)

Course Structure

The course can be studied either on day release (1 day per week) or evenings only (2 evenings per week) for 1 year.

 

Assessment is by externally set computer based formal and informal tests and a project, all of which are set by the AAT.

Entry Requirements

Previous accountancy or finance experience or relevant qualifications (A-levels or AAT L2). An interview prior to enrolment is required.

Course Progression Routes

AAT Level 4 Diploma in Accounting

 

This qualification is accepted by some universities as an entry on to an Accounting Degree programme.

Course Career Prospects

· This qualification will be a progression towards becoming an accounting technician. After successfully completing the next level (AAT Level 4) technicians are eligible to progress to the qualifications of one of the sponsoring bodies such as ACCA and CIMA to become an accountant.
