AAT Level 4 Diploma in Accounting
Course Description
The course covers the following topics.
Mandatory units:
- Budgeting
- Financial Statements
- Financial Performance
- Internal Control and Accounting Systems
Students are required to complete 2 optional units from:
- Credit Management
- Personal Tax
- Business Tax
- Auditing
Course Structure
The course can be studied either on day release (1 day per week)
or evenings only (2 evenings per week) for 1 year.
Assessment is by externally set computer based formal and
informal tests and a project, all of which are set by the AAT.
Entry Requirements
Previous high level accountancy or finance experience or
relevant qualifications (AAT L3). An interview prior to enrolment
is required.
Course Progression Routes
This qualification is accepted by some universities as an entry
on to an Accounting Degree programme. Alternatively students may
wish to consider progressing on to studying with a Chartered
Accounting body.
Course Career Prospects
After successfully completing this level students are eligible
to progress to the qualifications of one of the sponsoring bodies
such as ACCA and CIMA to become an accountant.
