Basic Skills - English (Adult Literacy)
Course Description
Classes are offered at different levels from Entry Level 1
through to Level 2.
Our friendly classes are available in the morning, afternoon or
evening and you may be able to join at different times throughout
the year.
Course Structure
All classes cover the following areas:
- Reading
- Writing
- Spelling
- Grammar
- Speaking and Listening
Examination Details
Entry level 1 to 3 learners will undertake an assessment with
their tutor at the end of their programme.
Levels 1 and 2 learners will have the choice of sitting a 1 hour
multiple choice on-line or paper based test.
Entry Requirements
No previous qualifications are required. All learners will
undertake an initial and diagnostic assessment to find their
current level of skill. Staff will then recommend a suitable
class.

Learners can progress through the levels listed below gaining
nationally recognised qualification up to Level 2.
