BTEC L2 Diploma in IT (IT User)
Course Description
The BTEC L2 Diploma in IT course is designed for learners who
wish to study within the technology sector, and to improve job
prospects in a wide area of IT related fields.
Course Structure
Learners will be equipped with the skills & knowledge to
succeed in an ever changing ICT environment through completion of
this course. The course offers the following subjects:
Mandatory Units
- Communicating in the IT Industry
- Working in the IT Industry
- Computer Systems
Optional Units
- Spreadsheet Modeling
- Database Systems
- Business IT Skills
- Presenting Information Using IT
All units are internally assessed.
You are expected to attend college for 12 hours per week over 3
days. Your timetable will be explained to you at interview.
Entry Requirements
Students must have a Level One ICT qualification to apply for
this course. All applicants must complete an initial assessment in
Maths and English; attend an interview and a short induction
programme.
Course Progression Routes
Upon successful completion of this course students may progress
on to the Access to HE in IT course or an ICT level 3
programme.
Course Career Prospects
Successful students may gain employment using ICT skills in a
variety of employment sectors.
