Women in Information Technology Levels 1 and 2
Course Description
The aim of this course is to stimulate interest and
enjoyment of Information and Communication Technology, enabling
students to acquire a basis for further study and employment and
gain a range of qualifications from the awarding bodies OCR and
City & Guilds.

Course Structure
Candidates will study 15 hours a week, timetabled over 4 days,
for a duration of 30 weeks.
Candidates will study the following:
- Microsoft Office applications including: Word, Excel,
PowerPoint
- ITQ in IT User Skills (Levels 1 and 2)
- Nationally recognised OCR Text Processing qualifications
- Mailmerge
- Keyboard Skills
- English and Maths
- Computer Maintenance
- Customer Care
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements; students are given an
initial assessment and are interviewed to assess suitability. The
main requirement is a willingness to learn and a desire to
achieve
Course Career Prospects
There will be some opportunities for gaining employing in the
ICT/Administration sector but more opportunities will be available
after further study including Applications Developer, IT
Consultant, Web Designer, Network/Software Engineer, Systems
Analyst, Games Developer.
