Ascentis Preparation for Employment in the Construction Industries (Plumbing) Level 1

Course Description

This course has been designed by Ascentis to provide basic training in construction skills for those seeking employment in the construction industry. It is suitable for learners who have no previous experience or knowledge of the construction craft skills.

 

The course will run for 8 hours per day, one day per week x 22 weeks.

Course Structure

The Certificate will be awarded to successful candidates on completion of the required chosen units. A number of units are required to achieve the qualification, which has been selected for candidates who wish to follow a plumbing route, which are as follows:

  • Introduction to Construction Work
  • Principles of Health and Safety
  • Handling and Storing Materials and Components
  • Personal Work Skills
  • Carrying out Plumbing Operations

 

The course will be predominately practical based however there will be a small amount of theory to ensure the learning outcomes are met.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements required however candidates will be required to undertale and achieve an initial assessment at Level 1 which will ensure that the learner is entered for an appropriate type and level of qualification.

Course Progression Routes

Possible progression onto City & Guilds 6219 Certificate in basic Plumbing studies level 2.

Course Career Prospects

Successful completion will assist progression within the construction industry.
