Door Supervisors Level 2 Award (Learners aged 16-18)
Course Description
The Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Award in Door Supervision (QCF) is
designed for people who want to work as door supervisors and
require a licence to practise. The qualification is endorsed by the
Security Industry Authority (SIA) and learners who complete it
successfully can apply to the SIA for a licence.
Please note: this course is for learners aged
16-18.
Completing this award will lead to
a guaranteed interview for work at the 2012 London Olympic
Games (those wishing to apply must be aged 18 before July
2012)
Course Structure
The learner may select from the following delivery models:
4 days (Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri)
4 weeks (Wed)
The course will comprise of a combination of practical and
theoretical sessions and the completion of course work based on the
following:
Unit I Working in the Private Security
Industry
Leaners will be able to develop knowledge and understanding
about working in the private security industry.
Unit 2 Working as a Door Supervisor
Learners will be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills
relevant to the role of a door supervisor.
Unit 3 Conflict Management for the Private Security
Industry
This unit focuses on the knowledge and practical skills to deal
with conflict management.
Unit 4 Physical Intervention Skills for the Private
Security Industry
Learners will be able to expand their knowledge of conflict
management and apply physical intervention skills.
An assessment will take place on the final day of the chosen
course

4 x GCSE’s Grade D

NCFE Level 2 Diploma in the Uniformed Public Services
BTEC L2 – L3 Diploma in Sport and Leisure
BTEC L2 – L3 Diploma in Uniformed Public Services
