Course Description

This programme of study is designed to provide the opportunity for Masters level study in education for a wide variety of learning professionals working in many different roles and contexts in secondary, further, higher and adult/community education as well as training organisations and prison education.

 

The central themes of the programme are innovation and enterprise in teaching and learning. The programme aims to promote and foster the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary for professionals to design, deliver and evaluate innovation and enterprise in their own organisational contexts within the framework of a Masters in Education programme

 

Course Structure

Year 1

  • Contemporary Issues in a Professional Context
  • Leading and Managing Innovation
  • Enhancing Practice through Technological Innovation

 

Year 2

  • Educational Research and Reflective Enquiry
  • Innovation and Enterprise Project

 

Course Entry Requirements

  • All learners will need to complete an application and interview prior to enrolling.

  • Undergraduate Degree in appropriate field with a minimum classification 2:2

  • To have a suitable full time position or substantial part time position within a recognised educational organisation preferably with confirmation of organisational support.

 

Course Progression

After completion of the MA, candidates can go on to study a Doctorate.

 

Course Career Prospects

The course would lead into a career in an academic environment or into research type roles.
