Course Description
This qualification is aimed to equip you with the vital skills
and knowledge required to work in the healthcare sector. The
qualification covers things like communicating effectively,
maintaining quality standards, improving the service you offer and
health, safety and security.
A Certificate in Working in the Health Sector can give you a
route into work, as well as helping you in your job as, a
healthcare assistant, district nurse, paramedic, occupational
therapy support worker, mental health nurse, hospital
administrator, hospital porter or hospital estates worker.
Course Structure
You do 6 core units, covering material at Level 2:
- Communication skills for working in the health sector
- Equality and diversity in the health sector
- Health, safety and security in the health sector
- People and personal development in the health sector
- Maintaining quality standards in the health sector
- Service improvement in the health sector
Competence is assessed by the development of a portfolio and
completion of workbooks.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. Applicants must first
complete a free writing exercise.
