Course Description
Learn new and exciting skills to build up your confidence within
all areas of basic food preparation and cooking. Impress your
friends, family and employers with your new skills and knowledge
gained from this course. This is very practical and fun.
Course Structure
Whilst working towards this qualification, you will cover:
- Cooking vegetables
- Fruit and salad preparation
- Basic dough products
- Basic meat preparation and cooking
- Basic poultry preparation and cooking
- Hygiene, health and safety
- Teamwork
- Food safety
The course is assessed through written questions and practical
observations.

Course Progression Routes
This qualification will enable progression onto the NVQ level 2
Professional Cookery, allowing development within the catering
industry and the prospect of employment as a professional chef.
