Course Description

This is a dynamic new training programme that prepares people looking for their first job in the vibrant hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism Industry.

 

Developed by People 1st with Job Centre Plus, Employment 1st has the full backing and input from employers who have requested a consistent industry standard for pre-employment training. The programme covers 13 job roles and can lead to a nationally recognised qualification

Course Structure

This qualification comprises five mandatory units:

  • Introduction to the hospitality industry
  • Introduction to personal workplace skills
  • Health and safety for the workplace
  • Principles of customer service in hospitality leisure travel and tourism
  • Food safety in catering

Entry Requirements

Assignment and multiple choice question test.

Apprenticeship in Hospitality Level 2

Apprenticeship in Customer Service Level 2

Course Career Prospects

Level 1 Award Introduction to employment in the Hospitality Industry, will enhance job prospects within the following job roles: Bar staff, Barista, Catering supervisor, Chef, Conference/exhibition manager, Crew member, Customer service staff – reception, Hotel porter, Housekeeper, Kitchen porter, Leisure and theme park attendant, Travel agent, Waiter/waitress.
