Course Description
A one year, pre-service, full-time programme, the programme
includes lectures, workshops, tutorials and lesson observations.
Assessment strategies include: assignments, reports, presentations,
evaluative and reflective accounts, portfolio of evidence of
teaching practice.
Course Structure
A total of eight level six credited modules will be covered
over the year of the programme. The credit ratings are shown
below:

Within these module core competencies ILT, Language,Literacy
and numeracy will be addressed.
Course Assessment
Mentor in the Workplace
Each applicant must have access to a mentor in the workplace
who can offer support during the qualification.
Lesson Observations
Six lesson observations will be undertaken by a course
tutor and two by your mentor or a subject specialist in your area
of teaching.
Entry Requirements
- A degree or equivalent, from a recognised university, usually
in the subject specialist field.
- 150 hours teaching/training employment within the Lifelong
Learning sector, over the year of the programme
- Candidates will be required to undergo initial core
competencies assessment
Applicants will need to demonstrate that they carry out
the duties associated with a Full Teacher role
The Course
The full teacher role is performed by someone who:
- Uses materials they have designed and evaluated
- Teaches across a range of levels, subjects and learner
types
- Teaches across or contributes to a range of programmes of
varying lengths
The fees
All fees are per academic year and are the standard charges
which may be subject to changes without notice. Standard fees apply
to students who have been resident in the UK/EU for at least 3
years. Please note some coures may have addittional costs for
materials, exams and registration fees in addition to standard
course fees.
