What to Bring when Enroling
If you are eligible for reduced fees because you are claiming
Job Seekers Allowance or Employment Support Allowance (Work Related
Activity Group), you will need to bring evidence of these benefits
as below:
Job Seekers Allowance
JSA award letter (if less than 3 months old)
or
Your most recent bank statement (no more than 1 month old)
clearly showing payment of the benefit to you
and
Your National Insurance Number
If you don’t have either an award letter or a bank statement
then you can ask for a ‘Confirmation of benefit form’ from Learner
Services which you can take to the Job Centre and ask them to
complete if for you. This will usually take a few days and they
will post the form back to you.
Employment and Support Allowance (Work Related Activity
Group)
Award letter stating that you are in the Work Related Activity
Group
and
a recent bank statement (no more than 1 month old) clearly
showing payment of the benefit to you
and
your National Insurance Number
Additional Flexibilities for Unemployed Learners
If you are in receipt of another state benefit (other than those
listed above), are unemployed and wanting to do a course which will
help you into work you will need to bring the following:
Award letter stating the benefit you are receiving (if less than
3 months old)
or
Your most recent bank statement (no more than 1 month old)
clearly showing payment of the benefit to you
and
your National Insurance Number
Residency status for Learners living outside the UK in the last
3 years
If you have lived outside the UK in the last three years, we
will need to undertake a status check for you to establish your
residency status in the UK or EU. In this case please bring with
you any Home Office documents, passport or ID cards that establish
your residency status in the UK or EU. Even if we have previously
taken a status check, for example, if you have previously completed
a course with us, we may have to do this again before you enrol
