The aim of this programme is to provide a further progression route for those students who have previously achieved a Higher National Diploma or equivalent in a sports-related area.
There will also be an opportunity to combine your sporting development and achieve additional sports coaching qualifications via the sports academy.
The programme offers a multi-disciplinary approach to studying and applying knowledge of sport and exercise in a health, psychological, educational and professional context.
Opportunities are also provided to study areas of interest through the completion of a dissertation.
The programme offers a multi-disciplinary approach to studying and applying knowledge of sport and exercise in a health, psychological, educational and professional context. The course is run over two semesters and includes the following modules:
Sport Psychology (20 Credits)
PE, Coaching and Teaching (20 Credits)
Exercise, Lifestyle and Health Promotion (20 Credits)
Emplyability in Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences (10 Credits)
Research Methods (10 Credits)
Dissertation (40 Credits)
A variety of assessment methods which include essays, practical activities, reports and presentations are adopted throughout the course in order to appeal to students with different learning styles.

Successful students can choose to study for a relevant Masters Programme or a PGCE course here at University Centre, Doncaster. Alternatively, this degree programme prepares you fully for the world of work, and graduating students will be well equipped to enter employment in a variety of sports settings. For example; Sports Science support, working with performers, personal training, exercise prescription, coaching or Armed Forces/Police/Fire Services.
