How to Apply
Once you have chosen the course you wish to study you should
follow the steps below.
- Complete an Application Form (click this link to
download) - you can return your form to the International
Office by post, fax or e-mail. Please include copies of your
academic qualifications for all courses and if applicable, your
IELTS certificate for confirmation of your level of English.
- Offer of a Place - If you meet the
requirements for entry to your chosen course we will write to
you offering you a place.
- Acceptance - If you decide to accept the
offer, we will need a deposit in order to send you your official
acceptance letter which you need to use for your visa
application.
- After you have received your visa - You will
need to book your flight and confirm to us when you will arrive.
You will need to let us know whether you will require accommodation
at Doncaster College.
- Arriving in the UK - We can provide a free
meet and greet service to international students on certain days of
the year. Once you arrive you will be welcomed to Doncaster College
by the International Office.
English Requirements
For English as a Foreign Language we require a
minimum
IELTS (or
equivalent) score of 4.0 if you intend to apply for a student visa.
You'll need to show that you have a basic knowledge of English if
you want to apply for a student visitors visa.
For further education courses and HNDs we requrie a minimum
score of 5.5.
For degrees we require a minimum score of 6.0.
For our MBA we require a minimum score of 6.5.
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE
Academic): We accepting the PTE Academic
English test, which
was launched worldwide in October 2009. For more

Applying for your Student Visa
Students from outside the European Union will have to apply to
their nearest British Embassy or High Commission in order to obtain
Entry Clearance.
Doncaster College is one of the largest government funded
colleges of further and higher education in the UK and is listed on
the DFES register of providers.
We have recently been designated "Highly Trusted Sponsor"
(HTS) status under the Tier 4 UK Border Agency Points
Based System. Our sponsor license number is
KX7XH0PJ7.
In order to obtain a student visa you will have to show:
- Your current valid passport
- Your Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) number which
we will generate after we receive 50% of your first year tuition
fees.
- Documentary proof (for example, bank statements) that you have
enough money to pay the full tuition fees and at least £600 per
month to maintain and accommodate yourself.
- Original copies of the documents that we have used to make your
offer.
- Confirmation that you have made accommodation arrangements
for the entire period of your studies.

Student Visitors Visas
For courses of less than 6 months, you should apply for a
student visitors visa. It is also possible to study English
courses of up to 11 months on a student visitors visa. See the
