Step by Step
Once you have chosen the course you wish to study you should
follow the steps below:
Step 1: Apply
Complete an application form and prepare the following
items:
- certified copies of your academic transcripts
- a TOEFL or IELTS test score
- an academic reference (preferable)
- colour-scan copy of your passport (valid until at least 6
months after the end of your programme)
- the course you wish to take whilst at Doncaster
Application deadlines
For entry into semester one (September) apply by 1 July
For entry into semester two (January) apply by 31 October
Applications can be sent to Doncaster College or e-mailed as
scanned documents.
Step 2: Confirmed receipt, offer e-mail and
acceptance
An e-mail will be sent to confirm receipt of your application.
If you meet the entrance requirements and have been selected by the
school, we will e-mail you an offer of a place.
Step 3: Apply for accommodation
Now you will need to apply for accommodation if required
Step 4: You may need to apply for a visa
Once you have the offer letter and accommodation information,
you will then be able to apply for a visa and make your travel
arrangements. In order to apply for a visa we need to issue you a
CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies), this will be done once
we have your required fees.
Please confirm your travel arrangements with our office once you
have booked them.
English Requirements
For English as a Foreign Language (EFL) we require a
minimum
IELTS Acadeimic
(or equivalent) score of 4.0.
For FE courses and HNDs we require a minimum score of 5.5
overall (4.0 minimum in each category).
For degrees we require a minimum score of 6.0 (5.5
minimum in each category).
For our MBA we require a minimum score of 6.5 (5.5 minimum in
category).
We also accept Pearson Academic (PTE), TOEIC and TOEFL scores.

Applying for your Student Visa
Doncaster College is one of the largest government funded
colleges of further and higher education in the UK and is listed on
the DFES register of providers.
We have recently been designated "Highly Trusted Sponsor"
(HTS) status under the Tier 4 UK Border Agency Points
Based System. Our sponsor license number is
KX7XH0PJ7.
In order to obtain a student visa you will have to show:
- Your current valid passport
- Your Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) number which
we will generate after we receive your full tuition fees.
- Documentary proof (for example, bank statements) that you have
enough money to pay the full tuition fees and at least £800 per
month to maintain and accommodate yourself for a minimum of 9
months. The money needs to have been in your account for a minimum
of 28 days before your application is submitted.
- Original copies of the documents that we have used to make your
offer.
- Confirmation that you have made accommodation arrangements
for the entire period of your studies.

Student Visitors Visas
For courses of less than 6 months, you should apply for a
student visitors visa. It is also possible to study English
courses of up to 11 months on a student visitors visa. See the
