Foundation Degrees

What is a Foundation Degree?

A Foundation Degree is designed and delivered in partnership with employers and Higher Education establishments (Universities and Colleges) to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills relevant to your employment and to help you further your career.

A Foundation Degree combine’s traditional academic study with work based learning and is becoming the preferred choice for students who would previously have chosen to study an HND or Degree course as it provides them with additional skills which are often sought after by employers looking for prospective employees.

How long does a foundation Degree last?

A full time course will normally last two academic years.

What level is it?

A Foundation Degree is a level 5 qualification or the equivalent level of the first two years of a Degree.  Many students who study a Foundation Degree often decide to continue studying (normally for a further year) to increase their qualification to a full Degree.
