Crazy Construction

This module includes a range of exciting practical skills, including carpentry, joinery, plastering, brickwork, painting, decorating and plaster cast mouldes.

The children work with staff and mentors using materials they may have never worked with before. They will learn about how to keep safe when handling and using these materials and tools.

The activities are fun and practical and link to science, design technology, literacy and mathematical skills.

The children will have an original piece of construction which they have made to take back to school. Some schools use this module as a platform to create a “Crazy Construction” club at school.

What the children think

“I learnt hoe to do plastering and painting and joinery”, “I liked tapping the plaster mould to get the air out” - Pupils from Lakeside Primary
