Discover Doncaster with the Doncaster Museum Club

Run by Doncaster Museum staff including a real live archaeologist; the children will learn how to identify and analyse through investigation of various objects, which will include a genuine Roman coin hoard, prehistoric animal bones and a genuine dinosaur egg!

They will have the opportunity to handle a range of ancient artefacts and replicas. Children will meet the museum’s conservator and natural sciences’ officer to discover how museums conserve and store exhibits.

Through hands-on activities, tours and Q&A sessions children will learn about Doncaster from prehistoric through to medieval times. Along the way children will learn about the importance and relevance of symbols of the past and use these to design and create their own flag and symbols.
