How to put a podcast episode up
In order to put a podcast episode up, follow these steps. Note
that this guide describes how to put episodes into a folder in the
"Course Documents" area, but these steps can apply to the "Course
Information" and "Assignments" or custom areas also.
To begin with, go to the appropriate course. Then:
-
Go to "Course Documents" using the menu bar on the left of the
screen.
-
Go into your Podcast folder, or create it if it doesn't already
exist.

- Select the "Edit View" option from the top-right of the page
which loads up.

-
Once in Edit View, click on the 'Select:' drop-down menu and
choose the 'Podcast Episode' option, then press the 'Go'
button.

-
Enter a title for the episode.
-
Optionally enter a description for the episode. It is
recommended that you give an overview of what is contained in the
episode.
-
Section 2 - Podcast Media
Click the 'Browse' button to open up a find file dialog.

- Find the file on your computer or disk, select it and press the
Open button.
(alternatively you can link to an external address if
desired)
-
Section 3 - Attachments
Optionally, attach other corresponding files. As an example, you
may be discussing a map in your podcast, so it might be useful to
attach the map file to the podcast also.
-
Section 4 - Options
Choose whether to make the podcast episode available, or between
certain dates.
- Click the Submit button.
- The episode will now be uploaded and ready to view.

When ready to package the episodes together and allow them to be
subscribed to using software such as iTunes or Google Reader, make
a podcast using the Podcast Manager.
