Enterprise Training

More than 500 staff members at Doncaster College have undertaken a qualification to make them more enterprising.

Staff have taken the NCFE Award in Enterprising Capabilities which encourages staff to take on the role of Enterprising Tutors urging learners to develop a more innovative approach to their work.

The programme will help staff Identify and encourage entrepreneurial skills, attributes and behaviour and signpost students to appropriate support.  The first sets of certificates were handed out on Friday, February 13 at the College’s Hub campus.

In 2008, the College launched its Enterprise College project in association with Doncaster Council’s Success Doncaster scheme.

Enterprise College Project Manager Jayne Robinson said: “It’s great to see so many of our staff members achieving this qualification and embracing the ethos of Enterprise.

Some new and exciting ideas have come out of this training which will make the College a more enterprising place to work and a more innovative place for the students to learn.

It is essential that the College engages with the staff to supply a base-line, and define collaboration across College of: ‘What Enterprise Is’”

More than a hundred staff are still due to take the course in the coming weeks and further mini-awards ceremonies will be carried out soon.

Enterprise Training - 2009

Please find below further dates for the Mandatory Enterprise Training CPD. As you are aware every member of staff is required to undertake this training and many have already done so. This is an excellent opportunity to develop and further skills to enhance CPD whilst learning more about Enterprise College Doncaster.

We appreciate that the timings for the training is sometimes problematic, therefore providing the following dates whilst fewer students are on campus may give staff another opportunity to attend. If there are sessions you cannot attend as you are not in work on those days, please contact Carlene Farmer who will try to accommodate your requirements.
