Student awareness was raised over Enterprise week, with a range of activities taking place encouraging all students across college to  mix with other social circles. The Mr and Miss Enterprise competition took place, narrowing down to 10 entrepreneurs all aiming win by achieving the most votes.
A range of academies within the college got involved raising awareness of Enterprise College along with Doncaster Chmaber, Business link and other local advisors, proving to be a very successfull event.

Enterprise Week 08 - 16-22 November 2008

Doncaster College’s inaugural Enterprise Ball took place at The Stables, High Melton, on November 20, 2008.

Local businesses joined senior staff to celebrate all things enterprising at the event, which also saw Employer Charters awarded to companies which have established excellent working relationships with the College.

Attendees were wowed by an auction, raffle, an after-dinner speech from Doncaster Rovers legend Mickey Walker and video case studies of enterprising projects from across the College and University Centre – as well as a live case study of a student dress-maker who has set up her own business at High Melton.

Beauty Therapy lecturer Sue Cocking was also presented with a prestigious award for ‘Innovative and Effective Learner Engagement’, sponsored by awarding body NCFE. The aim of the award is to recognise outstanding contribution from a member of staff who is working in any teaching, mentoring or support capacity with students.

Enterprise College Project Manager Jayne Robinson said: “I must say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the raffle and auction - £1,164 was raised for charity with half going to the National Autistic Society and half to help establish a bursary for women entering the engineering industry.
