Mini-Enterprise Week A Success!
College students gained an insight into enterprise
through a series of Enterprise Awareness sessions held at The Hub
over two days in May.
The sessions were put on over lunchtime on
Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th May to encourage the
students to participate and understand about Enterprise in the
Students took part in a Spaghetti and
Marshmallow Towers event where groups of a
maximum eight were given two packets of marshmallows
and two packs of spaghetti, and had 30 minutes to create
the tallest tower.
Teams of students were also involved in the
Crystal Maze task, where students had to select the right team
member for the task in hand, including Problem solving; number
logic; physical challenge and mental challenge.
Winners form the previous tasks met for a
final Boardroom Challenge where the team finalists were asked to
complete a challenge. The wining team received £10 HMV Voucher.
Overall this was deemed a successful event which saw 71 students
take part from a range of courses and other students who came to
watch and cheer on their fellow students. Also this saw a
huge rise in the website hits. During the week in which the
enterprise events were running, we experienced a spike in traffic
to the Enterprise area of the College website.
- Unique visitors were above double the normal number.
- The Enterprise Quiz proved very popular.
- Of the last 500 visitors to the website, almost half of these
visited the ‘Alan Sugar’ Enterprise Quiz.
- This was also linked from the Student Area of the website,
helping to advertise it’s availability.
- The ‘What is Enterprise’ page has also proved popular
