New Salon to Inspire
Hairdressing students at Doncaster
College will be learning in some of the best facilities in the
country from September after a £30,000 refurbishment of the
salon.
The salon, which is open to the public, is to
be renamed ‘Inspire’ following the refit – funded by Success
Doncaster and hair giant Wella and will be opened by hairdressing
legend Patrick Cameron.
The College’s 200 hairdressing students will
start to use the new facilities from September and World-renowned
Patrick, who hails from New Zealand, will officially open the
new-look salon on Monday, October 12 with local salon owners and
other dignitaries invited.
Patrick – the world’s leading long hair expert
– travels the world as a global ambassador for hairdressing, giving
‘electric’ presentations showcasing his and his team’s talents.
Kelly English, Assistant Director of the
Academy of Commercial Enterprise at Doncaster College, said: “Not
only will the new salon enable our hairdressing students to learn
in some of the best training salons around but it also provides the
Doncaster public with a new and exciting place to get their hair
done – and at very competitive prices.
“The salon, under supervision, will be run by
the College’s most experienced students, offering customers all the
latest styles and services.”
Councillor Jonathan Wood, Cabinet Member for
Business and New Enterprise, said: “The new facilities will help
give Doncaster students the best chance of achieving in their
course and go on to become a success of the future.”
