Student Input into Town’s Museum

Student Input into Town’s Museum

Budding film-maker Waqar Shah is being invited to have an input into Doncaster Museum’s upcoming displays.

Waqar, 18, of Hyde Park, Doncaster, is currently studying the First Diploma in Media at Doncaster College and alerted the Museum’s curators after completing a piece of coursework for them earlier in the year.

With the help of fellow students, Waqar produced a short promotional film for the Museum – and Museum officials liked it so much they have asked for his advice on interactive displays.

He said: “I’ve already met with people at the Museum and they’ve asked me to go back and see them again. It feels really good to be asked what I think and to give my opinion on displays. It’s really interesting.

“I would love to be a film director but I know there’s a long way to go for that to happen. My course is great and it’s really helping me.”

Doncaster College runs media courses from its Hub campus. Further details can be obtained by calling 0800 358 7575 or visiting http://www.don.ac.uk/
