We know this is your special day, so please find an overview
below of all the key information you will need to know. For full
details, please make sure to read our About
the Day and Guidance Notes
pages.
On the day itself, there will be plenty of stewards available to
welcome you and offer and guidance that you may require.
-
Arrival & Getting Here
The Hub is located on Chappell Drive in Doncaster town centre,
around 5-10 minutes away from the Frenchgate Interchange on foot
and with good links to local motorways. Click here to find us on Google
Maps.
There are a number of pay-and-display car
parks available to use within close walking distance of The
Hub.
Please ensure you arrive close to your registration time, which
has been sent to you in previous emails.
-
Registration & Tickets 10am or 11am
Registration times are staggered through the morning to ensure
quicker processing. You should arrive at the time which has been
included in previous emails to you.
Upon arrival at The Hub, register at the desk located behind the
escalators. We will check in graduating students and exchange your
printed confirmations for your student and guest tickets. You will
require these for entry to the Minster, so please keep
tickets with you at all times.
-
Gowning From 10am
After registering, students should make their way up to the
third floor via the escalator (or ask a steward if you would prefer
to take the lift or stairs).
We recommend Graduands wear a dark suit or similar smart day
clothes. Graduands may find it useful to wear a shirt that buttons
up to the neck, to make it easier for the hood to sit. Hair pins
are also useful for keeping the cap in place.
Stewards will be available to direct you to the Gowning room,
where you will receive your cap and gown for the ceremony.
-
Photography From 10am
For those who have booked to have photographs taken with Ede
& Ravenscroft, these will be taken in the Drama Hall.
Please take your booking confirmation from Ede & Ravenscroft
with you.
You are also welcome to fetch your own cameras and take
photographs during the free time before guest seating at
12pm.
-
Free Time until 12pm
After registering and gowning, you will be able to relax at The
Hub and chat with your fellow Graduands and guests.
Please feel free to take photographs or make use of the
facilities available. Stewards will be on hand if you require any
directions, advice or assistance.
-
Guest seating at Doncaster Minster 12pm
Doncaster Minster will be open from 12pm for guests to arrive
and be seated.
Graduands should give bags and coats to guests before they
leave, otherwise these will have to carried through the ceremony by
the Graduand.
Guests must have the tickets that they collected from the
registration desk earlier in the day.
-
Student procession & ceremony 12:10pm -
2:30pm
Students must be gathered on the ground floor of The Hub at
12:10pm.
At this time, we will arrange Graduands into order and give
details of how the ceremony will take place (don't worry, there are
many stewards on hand to guide you).
The procession will begin from The Hub at around 12:40pm, and
the ceremony will begin in Doncaster Minster at 1pm.
-
Afternoon tea 2pm - 4:30pm
Afternoon tea will be served in the Events Hall at The Hub. This
is on the ground floor, to the left of the escalators.
In order to gain entry, students and guests must present their
tickets at the doors.
-
End of day 4:30pm - 5pm
4:30pm marks the official end of the day, although Graduates and
guests are welcome to make their exit in their own time.
Hired gowns must be returned by 5pm, to the
same room where you were gowned at the beginning of the day.
