Learn how to research effectively

  • 7 Steps to Searching (PDF or Word) – find the right information by using this worksheet to help you to develop your search strategy.
  • Intute Virtual Training Suite  - Intute provide access to freely available online information related to learning and research, much of it recommended by experts and researchers. They also provide free online training tutorials to help you to use the Internet effectively. Here you can find a wide variety of subject-specific tutorials.
  • Harvard Referencing – keep track of your resources and get started with Harvard Referencing.
  • Turnitin - some tutors allow students to check their citing and referencing against a plagiarism detection service database.  You will need a class login.
  • Indivdual assistance is available to post graduate students.  Please ask at the LRCs for assistance and details.
