Today we are celebrating Charles Dickens, on his 200th birthday! Charles Dickens was a prolific writer who produced 15 popular novels. We have a large range of Charles Dickens novels in our Learning Resource Centres, and film and TV adaptations too. Why not take some out to celebrate one of Britain’s greatest Victorian writers?

The 2012 Six Book Challenge has started!
The Six Book Challenge invites people to read six books over a six month period. It is open to everybody, at all levels of reading, so why not join in?
If you are interested in taking part, call into The Hub LRC and ask a member of staff for your starter pack. This pack includes a reading diary for you to monitor and record your progress as you read your chosen books. We have a large selection of books in our reading area which you can take out and read as part of the Challenge.
The Challenge ends in May, and students who complete it receive a certificate during the special Six Book Challenge presentation.
