What are we up to?

Well along with organising some major events
for the new term, we’re also having a big move around. So far we
have relocated the fiction section, making a really nice seating
area for you to sit, relax and read your favourite fiction titles
(more stock is coming in so keep popping by!)
We’re also in the process of making a bit more
room in some of the tighter arts areas, so if that’s your section
it might wise to take a look, as some of it looks very different.
We don’t want you getting lost in the shelves!!!

Come and join The Big Draw!
The Hub LRC will be taking part in The Big Draw this
October 5th – 9th 2009. The Doncaster College Big Draw is in the
planning stages at the moment and is the inspiration of our very
own Sian Gibson.
Having completed various art courses at Doncaster College and a
degree at Sheffield Hallam, Sian became a learning resource
assistant based at The Hub LRC and maintains a zealous interest in
all things creative. “We are hoping to involve as much of our
college community as possible in The Big Draw” says Sian, “The LRC
will literally become a studio for a whole week with all sorts of
activities going on, we will have an ‘exhibition in progress’ and
display all contributions throughout October”.
We are eager to have involvement from staff and students, all
ideas are welcome. Tutors - bring your classes along, a wide
variety of creative activities will be on offer, something to suit
everyone. If you think you can’t draw, think again, we can all
doodle, can’t we?
Come along and take part - we can’t wait for it to begin!
European Elections 4th June 2009
Are you eighteen or over and eligible to vote in the European
Elections on 4th June?
The European Union (EU) is a partnership of 27 democratic
countries, working together for the benefit of all their citizens.
It aims to promote social and economic progress among its members,
common foreign and security positions, police and judicial
co-operation.
