Public Services competition success
Public Services students have come
second and fourth in a regional competition against 17 other
colleges from around Yorkshire and Humberside.
The annual Army Inter-College Competition at
Strensall in York involved a day of activities ranging from
archery, paintball, laser ranges, mountain biking, high wire and a
timed assault course run.
Public Services lecturer Wayne Bartlett said “The day
was thoroughly enjoyable for our learners offering an opportunity
to mix with other colleges and to interact with real soldiers give
our students a real insight into their careers.”
“The two teams entered into the competition
were placed first and second until the last round. We’ve never done
this well - our students smashed a whole minute off the assault
course record”
“The drive is now to build on this year’s
success and make a clean sweep of the medals at next year’s
competition.”
