Stainforth FE Centre Relaunches Today as Doncaster College
East.
Doncaster College East is due to launch today Wednesday
18th April 2012, with many new and exciting courses available to
study.
Based in Stainforth, to the East of Doncaster, and known
previously as the Stainforth FE Centre, the Centre has been
refurbished, with a new roof and signage and decorated inside by
students from the College’s painting and decorating department. It
has a new name to go with its new look, Doncaster College, East,
Education, Training and Innovation Centre.
To celebrate the re-launch, Doncaster College is holding ‘A Have
a Go Open Day’ at the Centre from 3pm to 7pm today, where there
will be a host of activities for the public to have a go at
including cake decoration and sugarcraft, computing, floristry,
photography, plaster craftwork and business skills and much
more.
There will be demonstrations on nail art techniques in the
Centre’s Inspire Hair and Beauty Salon, which is run and managed by
students from the College.
Prospective students will be able to sign up to a range of new
courses and to some well established courses that have run in the
past like cake decoration and sugar craft and hairdressing.
A specialist advisor will be on hand to discuss specific
vocational courses to help learners get back into work and there
will be advice on starting a business. Business incubation units
will be available with in the newly refurbished Centre, which will
provide all the basics required to start trading.
The re-launch of the Centre is part of Doncaster College’s
commitment to help meet the needs of the local community and
businesses by offering a range of learning opportunities, business
start-up and training prospects and advice to all, and in the
process helping to make adult learning more accessible.
