(Not So) Hairy Experience for Lecturers!
Lecturers from the Academy of Commercial Enterprise at Doncaster
College have had their legs waxed for charity.
In 2011, College Catering student Craig Swift was
diagnosed with cancer in his bones and as a response the Academy
chose to adopt the Teenage Cancer Trust as their charity for the
year.
As part of an ongoing set of activities to raise money, six
gentlemen lecturers of the academy: Ian Allgood, Simon French,
Chris Waddington, Jon Waiton, Alan Madin and Dave Evans, had waxing
selected for them by the ladies of the academy on the pretext that
the one who raised the most money would have the least amount of
waxing done to them, and so suffer the least pain!
The gentlemen fell for this and collected well over £650 before
discovering how much pain they really would have to endure!
The waxing was carried out in one of the excellent beauty
treatment rooms at the Hub Campus by students from the Beauty
Therapy Level 2 course and supported by their Lecturers.
It is now up to the gentlemen to determine the next fundraising
event and the ladies are just a little concerned with what is being
considered for them!
