Sporting Students

Ben Lancaster shows children how to be a star at
sports.
Students from the BTEC Level 2 Course in Sports at
Doncaster College visited Maltby Crags Community School to help
organise a sports event just before the summer break.
As part of the requirements of their course
learners have to collaborate in the planning and delivery of a
sports tournament or sporting event.
The students organised a matball and football
tournament with the school children and an athletics event with a
variety of track and field activities.
Mrs Hamilton, from the school said, “It was an
excellent day for the children at our school. The learners from
Doncaster College were professional in their delivery and attitude.
We have worked with the College before and every year they exceed
our expectation”.
Ben Lancaster, a learner on the Sports course
at the College said, “I really enjoyed the experience as we put
what we learnt into practice. It gave me an insight in what I need
to do to work in sports coaching. The kids where brilliant as they
did exactly what we asked them to do”.
