Four members of the Doncaster College Rugby League Academy met and interviewed their heroes at the Legends of Rugby event, held at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.

The four lads, Adam Jones, Craig Wincop, Michael Johnson and James Murphy were there to interview the stars for the College's Student Magazine, 'USpeak' and were granted behind the scenes access to the players and Sky Sports television.

The Legends of Rugby event is a brand new concept and featured stars of World Rugby such as World Cup winner Neil Back, British Lion John Bentley and league legends Martin Offiah, Robbie Paul, Iestyn Harris, Paul Sculthorpe and Barrie McDermott. The tournament will be broadcast over the Christmas period on Sky Sports.

Michael Johnson, student said, "I really can’t believe I've got to meet my all-time hero Martin Offiah and got to interview him as well, I'll remember this day for the rest of my life."

Sam Meadows, Lecturer in Sports and Leisure said "What a great experience for the lads, they enjoyed the behind the scenes access and heard first hand what it takes to become a world-class sportsman."

The interviews will be published in the next issue of 'USpeak' which will be available from February 2010.
