The draw was made by Sharon Cuffy, who drew the winning entry under the watchful eyes of fellow art student Zara Parsons and the Principal and Chief Executive of the College, George Trow.

Over four-hundred others had entered into the running for the £89 e-reader whilst attending the event.

Jacob said he was very happy to win a Kindle and is looking into doing a construction course at the College in the future.

The event was designed to give attendees such as Jacob a chance to find out more about the range of full and part time courses that are available at the College, including Apprenticeships, Vocational Courses, Foundation Degrees, Higher Degrees and Professional Qualifications. College staff were also on hand to help with CV writing, finding local job opportunities and career advice.

The open day gave people of all ages the opportunity to try their hand at a range of fun activities, taster sessions and skill challenges across a host of subject areas.
